Refund Policy

Last updated May 28, 2026

This Refund Policy explains when and how Typevia (“Typevia,” “we,” or “us”) issues refunds for paid subscriptions to the Typevia collaborative LaTeX editing platform (the “Service”). It applies to all paid subscriptions purchased directly from Typevia through our payment processor, DodoPayments.

This Policy supplements, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between this Policy and the Terms of Service with respect to refunds, this Policy controls.

Nothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

1. Overview

1.1 Purpose. This Refund Policy explains when and how Typevia LLC ("Typevia," "we," or "us") issues refunds for subscription fees paid for access to the Typevia collaborative LaTeX editing platform (the "Service"). This Policy supplements, and forms part of, our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Service.

1.2 Payment Processor. Payments for the Service are processed by our third-party payment provider, DodoPayments. By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to any terms applicable to that processor. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through the same processor.

2. Refund Eligibility

2.1 14-Day Refund Window. You may request a full refund of your most recent subscription payment within fourteen (14) days of the charge, provided that you have not materially used the paid features during that period. "Material use" includes, without limitation, compiling more than a nominal number of documents, inviting collaborators, or otherwise using paid-tier features that consume Typevia compute resources.

2.2 Annual Plans. For annual subscriptions, the 14-day window runs from the date of the initial annual charge or, separately, from the date of any annual renewal. Refund requests submitted outside this window for annual plans are not eligible, except where required by applicable law.

2.3 Monthly Plans. For monthly subscriptions, the 14-day window applies to the initial purchase only. Monthly renewals are not refundable; if you wish to avoid being charged for a future month, cancel before the renewal date as described in Section 3.2 of the Terms of Service.

2.4 Non-Refundable Items. The following are not eligible for refund: (a) charges for any Subscription Period in which paid features were materially used; (b) one-time add-ons, credits, or usage-based charges that have already been consumed; (c) charges incurred more than 14 days prior to the refund request; and (d) accounts terminated by Typevia for breach of the Terms of Service.

3. Refunds for Service Failure

3.1 Extended Outage. If the Service is unavailable for a continuous period exceeding twenty-four (24) hours due to a failure attributable to Typevia, excluding scheduled maintenance and force majeure events, you may request a prorated credit or refund covering the affected portion of your then-current Subscription Period.

3.2 Duplicate or Erroneous Charges. If you believe you have been charged in error, including duplicate charges or charges following a confirmed cancellation, contact us within thirty (30) days of the charge. We will investigate and refund any verified erroneous amount.

4. How to Request a Refund

4.1 Contact. To request a refund, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your account. Please include your account email, the date and amount of the charge in question, and a brief explanation of the reason for your request.

4.2 Response Time. We aim to respond to refund requests within five (5) business days. Approved refunds are processed within seven (7) to ten (10) business days of approval. The time required for the refunded amount to appear on your statement depends on your payment provider and may take additional business days.

4.3 Currency and Fees. Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge. Typevia is not responsible for currency conversion differences, foreign transaction fees, or other bank fees imposed by your payment provider.

5. Cancellation vs. Refund

5.1 Cancellation. Cancelling your subscription stops future renewals but does not by itself trigger a refund of the current Subscription Period. After cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

5.2 Account Deletion. Deleting your account does not automatically refund any active subscription. If you would like both a refund and account deletion, submit a refund request before, or together with, your deletion request.

6. Chargebacks and Disputes

6.1 Contact Us First. If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact [email protected] before initiating a chargeback with your card issuer. Most issues can be resolved more quickly directly with us.

6.2 Effect of Chargebacks. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us, or after a refund has already been issued, may result in suspension or termination of your account and forfeiture of any remaining service.

7. Changes to This Policy

7.1 Updates. We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email at least thirty (30) days before they take effect. Refund requests are evaluated under the version of this Policy in effect at the time the disputed charge was made.

7.2 Contact. Questions about this Policy should be sent to [email protected].
